Gordon Dean from TekkieToys sent an e-mail to me about a replacement program he found for vRD (VisionApp RDP) called Remote Desktop Manager from Devolutions.
Gordon and I go back to vRD version 2008 and I have upgraded every year until 2011 when vRD was taken over by ASG.
Having dealt with ASG before I decided not to upgrade any further and stick with my 2011 version.
I downloaded the trial version of Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager and was blown away. The perfect replacement for vRD. - Here I could combine my multiple Remote Desktop sessions with my multiple Teamviewer hosts all in one program. I even added separate Teamviewer sessions for just file transfer as I sometimes just need to transfer a file and don’t need to remote access the entire screen.
On top of that I added my VPN connections as well.
Importing features work great and it allowed me to just import sessions, passwords, etc.
Export features allow you to export the sessions and credentials as a backup or to just import into a second installation.
You can create groups and neatly organize by servers, clients, or whatever you want to organize by.
Other connections are also possible to add like Dameware, FTP, LogMeIn, VNC, etc. All I have used in the past and may come up again.
It is good to know that if they come up I have one place to add.
On top of all that, the pricing is lower than vRD and has multiple year maintenance options rather than vRD’s one year.
Contact Gordon from TekkieToys today to get your copy (trial or purchase). Great find, Gordon. Thanks and it looks like our business relationship is back on track.

Thanks, Gordon! Yes, we were testing RDM a number of months ago, and I wished I had known about it a long time ago. It's been amazing, and the developer has been very responsive and helpful; we've been using it as a replacement for vRD and it's far better in almost every aspect.
